Eric Stevens' Slipstream is not only one of the most intuitive, unique, and useful card effects for assorting torn and repaired cards, but it is fast becoming a staple in many magicians' repertoires.
Here's what happens:
A freely chosen card is selected, removed from the pile, and signed by a spectator if desired. You then proceed to fold and tear off one corner of the chosen card. You explain that you will return the card to normal and take out a mini stapler. The torn corner of the card is then stapled back to the card, but in an abnormal position, i.e. the centre of the selected torn card. After clearly showing both sides of the playing card, staple the corner to the card. You then place your hand on the bound corner and slowly push the corner through the staple and back completely to the corner where the playing card started. The card is ready for immediate distribution, inspection and preservation as a unique keepsake. While the staple remains in the middle of the card after the deck is restored.
With the Slipstream instructions, you will learn everything you need to know in great detail. It will also teach how to perform the complete process from multiple angles, as well as its many variations; including a gimmick-free version. As an added bonus, we teach a flow called Trimuda Berangle, in which Eric shows a very unique Slipstream demo with a blank card.
Slipstream has so many incredible moments we can't adequately express how wonderful this effect is. Of course, don't take my word for it; here's what many others have had to say about this almost playfully beautiful rip and repair deck!
"Great effect - looks like pure magic."
-Allan Ackerman
"Slipstream leaves the spectator with a souvenir, a reenactment of the impossible every time they see it."
- David Regal
"Honestly, I don't know how you do it."
- Jeremy Griffith
"Wow. We all know the power of providing mementos to objects that have been altered. Now you can add Slipstream to that list. Your audience will keep it forever. Well done!" - Michael Hout
"Eric has taken the TnR episode to the next level with Slipstream. It looks great, and adding staples to the fix not only adds a very strong memorable moment, but makes the unlikely souvenir even more memorable."
- David Jonathon
"Wait, what's with the chocolate fudge? That looks like witchcraft. Get away from me."
- Avi Yap
"One of the assortment of unique and memorable rip and restore card effects you can perform."
-Nicholas Lawrence
"Honestly, I've never seen anything so clean. It reminds me of how Paul Harris' work blows me away. Well done, my friend." -Nikola Arkane
"Eric's work on the torn and repaired cards is unique and very confusing, even for a knowledgeable magician - it really fooled me! Whether you perform with a card from your wallet or choose one from the entire deck, I'm sure you the audience will be blown away by the ultra-clear presentation of this classic effect!"
- Dee Christopher
"Very powerful and practical - leaves a compelling souvenir for the spectator."
- Adam Trent
"Super convincing, visually effective and different. Well done!"
- Caroline Ravn
Three words. Clean. Innovative. Seriously, Eric hit another home run! Slipstream is very smart, has a very clear reason for everything, and is foolhardy as hell!
- Cole Blalock.
"Eric Stevens is a creative genius. You have created a very visual and impossible to keep keepsake for people."
- Scott Paton
"Eric's Slipstream takes the classic TnR to the next level. Very creative!"
- Chiam Yu Shen
"Eric has a very creative mind. Slipstream is an example of playing with beauty. Such an amazing effect will destroy the viewer's mind. You say it's impossible? No, it's so bad I don't want you to buy it. " - Caroline Ravn
"I hate how good this is! It's like it's done so cleanly. Signed. Folded. Tearing. Binding. Both sides of the card show so cleanly. The wiggle of the staples and corners is so convincing! This is a great keepsake your audience will talk about and keep for many years!!!" - John Byng
